These terms cover the online services that go with the Cook:RE app: the import service, assistant connections, and this website. By using them you agree to these terms. If you don’t, don’t use them; the app’s local features keep working without them.
The app and these terms
The Cook:RE app is licensed to you under Apple’s Standard End User License Agreement. These terms don’t replace it. They cover only the services the app and your assistant reach over the internet.
No account
Cook:RE has no accounts. Your library lives on your iPhone. What the services know about you is described in the privacy policy, and these terms don’t change it.
Purchases
Subscriptions and the one-time purchase are sold and billed by Apple, under Apple’s terms. Refunds, renewals and cancellations are handled through your Apple account. Cook:RE can’t see your payment details or issue refunds itself.
Your recipes
Your recipes are yours. Cook:RE doesn’t claim ownership of them. When you import a recipe or connect an assistant, you give Cook:RE only the permission it needs to do what you asked: to process the content you send, to keep the copy an assistant connection needs while it is connected, and to return the results to you.
Import only what you have a right to use. Recipes you photograph, share or paste in are your responsibility, and Cook:RE doesn’t review them for rights.
Assistant connections
Connecting an AI assistant is optional and experimental. Once you connect one, it can read and edit the recipes in your library through Cook:RE’s tools. Every edit it makes is kept as a revision you can undo. What the assistant does with recipe text it reads is governed by that assistant’s provider and your agreement with them, not by Cook:RE. You can disconnect it at any time in Preferences → Assistant.
Acceptable use
Use the services as the app and the assistant connection are meant to be used. Don’t:
- send content you have no right to send, or content that is unlawful;
- try to reach another person’s library, or the services’ internals;
- overload the services, probe them for weaknesses without our permission, or work around the limits on how often they can be called;
- use the import service or the connection endpoint outside the Cook:RE app or a supported assistant, or resell access to them.
We may block requests that break these rules.
Changes and availability
The services are provided as they are. They depend on providers we don’t control, and may be slow, change, or be unavailable. Experimental features may change or end.
The import service is versioned with the app. When an old version of the app is retired, it can no longer import; your library, scaling and cooking in the app keep working, and updating the app restores importing. We may also change or end a service.
Liability
To the extent the law allows, Cook:RE isn’t liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from the services, or for how a recipe turns out. Check quantities, temperatures and allergens yourself. Nothing here limits any right you have that the law doesn’t allow to be limited.
Changes to these terms
We’ll update this page when the terms change, with a new date at the top. Continuing to use the services after a change means you accept it.
