Connect an assistant to Cook:RE

To start connecting an AI Assistant, follow the instructions below to set up your Claude, ChatGPT, or Gemini account so it can request access to your recipe library.

Information you’ll need

Claude

  1. Open Claude’s connectors ↗

    Click Add, then Add custom connector.

  2. Enter the name and server URL above, then click Continue.

  3. Click Connect. A Cook:RE page opens with a code.

ChatGPT

  1. Open ChatGPT’s Plugins page ↗

    Click Add, then Add custom MCP server.

  2. Enter the name and server URL above. Leave everything else as it is. Tick I understand and want to continue, then click Create as a plugin.

  3. Click Connect Cook:RE in the window ChatGPT shows. A Cook:RE page opens with a code.

Gemini

  1. Open Gemini’s connected apps ↗

    Click Custom.

  2. Enter the server URL above, then click Next.

  3. Tick the checkbox and click Connect. Google asks you to link your account: scroll down and click Agree and continue.

  4. A Cook:RE page opens with a code.

Another assistant

Any assistant that accepts a custom MCP server over HTTPS with OAuth can connect. Add a server with the name and server URL above, then approve the sign-in. A Cook:RE page opens with a code.

Then, on your iPhone

Scan the code on the Cook:RE page with your iPhone’s camera, or open Cook:RE, go to Preferences, tap Assistant, and enter it there. Confirm that the name shown is your assistant.
